Exit Glacier Ice Hiking Adventure from Seward

Summary: Any trip up to and through the glacier would be amazing, but Mary really took the time to show how dynamic the biome really is by looking for and showing us new features that had not been there before and offering us choices for which aspects we wanted to see, we got fun facts and great conversation the whole way, we cannot recommend this enough.

They were incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting information along the way, making the hike not only beautiful but educational too. Their friendly nature made everyone feel welcome, and their patience ensured that no one felt rushed. They kept the group safe at all times, while also making the experience fun and engaging with great stories and humor. Truly the perfect combination of professionalism and personality — highly recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure!

Summary: We had a lovely 2 hour hike into Exit Glacier area with Lochlan . He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The moderate hike was refreshing. We also had a lovely warm evening that made things perfect. I highly recommend this hike

Summary: We chose this hike and booked this outfitter through Viator as the best option to be able to hike on an actual glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. It was an extreme, 8 hour hike. But it was so cool! And well worth it! Our guides were Derek, Jack and Mary. It was nice that they were able to split the group of 15 into smaller groups to hike at different paces. Bring water and some snacks. The adventure outfit provided all the gear and lunch. Derek even picked us from, and dropped us off at our hotel in Seward.

Summary: We did the Exit Glacier hike with Kenai Backcountry Adventures. If there were world championships for best glacier hiking guides, Ashley and Fred would definitely podium! ????They were safe, adventurous, knowledgeable, and fun! Although we only brought a group of six friends, Ashley and Fred are welcome to expand our friend group to eight in future adventures. As fun as they were, they kept a good pulse on the group, stopping to rest when we needed, and pushing us to explore as well! We checked out crevasses and moulins from above (and below!), wiggled into ice caves where we were rained on by glacier water, and even learned about edible plants and antiseptic mosses while we hiked! After traipsing around all day on crampons with Ashley and Fred, my calves were sore, my feet were numb, and my cheeks hurt from laughing. Would do it again in a heartbeat. The landscape was jaw dropping, and the guides made it so so memorable. Make sure you go with Kenai Backcountry Adventures. You won’t be disappointed.

Summary: Fabulous hike to a glacier which was a unique experience with crampons and ice hiking. Our guide, Ashley, was outstanding in her knowledge, poise, expertise and considerate treatment of everyone in our group. Pretty tough hike but very well worth it.

Summary: The morning before our scheduled hike, our kayak tour canceled last minute. They were able to move us to that morning’s hike just an hour before takeoff. That flexibility really helped (and allowed us to reschedule instead of canceling the other tour). The tour was really cool. Pretty strenuous day of hiking for my pregnant wife and myself. The glacier was other worldly and was really fun to get out on. I had never used crampons but they are easy and very fun. Fred was a great guide. Helped us out along the way and matched the pace we were doing.

Summary: Outstanding tour. This was some serious trekking especially because it rained the entire time. The hike was beautiful and scenery awesome. Hiking on the glacier with crampons was incredible . Our guides Rose and Lucy were super knowledgeable and fun and made sure we were all safe. Highly recommend this tour with exit glacier guides!

From the very start, the KBA staff looked after all of our needs and concerns, from helping us pack our backpacks to sizing and fitting our crampons... Nathan, Cedar, Liv, Shea and Kyle were incredible- knowledgeable and engaging, patient and professional. We explored jaw-dropping routes on the glacier, getting up-close-and-personal with moulins, crevasses, ice shelves and other spectacular features.
